We have witnessed during our research and surveys that there is a huge demand for Micro ATM’S in rural India as there are single Garmin banks in a village. Talking exclusively with BW Businessworld, Shams Tabrej, Founder and CEO of Ezeepay. Excerpts:
Since people from rural areas do not have that much awareness comparatively, what are your plans to make them aware?
To make people aware we have set up our touchpoints across all pin codes which are well equipped with all the services of Ezeepay like Ezeepay DDS, mobile recharge, DTH recharge, bill payments, cash withdrawal and AEPS. Our Ezeepay partners offer all these services which are free of cost for all the Ezeepay customers.
Since you provide DDS, do the clients have questions about privacy and security?
Customers safety is our top priority and we take all necessary steps to ensure our customer’s privacy. We use audited servers and software. Both the server and the applications are certified by the respective certification authorities. We are executing our online platform on a secure platform which is our HTTPS. Moreover, we at Ezeepay do not store any kind of data, we just process the transaction and transfer the data to the bank. Once the transaction is complete the data is auto-deleted.
What will be your strategies for providing services to rural areas?
We are already covering all the maximum number of pin codes in rural India. Our main aim is to take banking to rural doorsteps for which we had started Ezeepay DDS this year. We as a fintech startup are focusing on pushing financial inclusions and promoting digital transactions in rural areas. We have a network of 1.78 lakh agents and distributors in the North Market, we are now focusing on expansion in rural areas of the southern region. As part of Ezeepay DDS, we initially started with comprehensive payment solutions for businesses that offer mobile recharge, DTH recharge, bill payments, cash withdrawal and AEPS. Our Ezeepay partners offer all these services which are free of cost for all the Ezeepay customers.
What are your future plans to have the proper growth in the market?
We have witnessed during our research and surveys that there is a huge demand for Micro ATM’S in rural India as there are single Garmin banks in a village. To fulfil this gap, we plan to deploy 2.5 lakh units in the next three years in both rural and urban areas. We are now equally focusing on the south market.
Where do you see your company in the next 3 years?
In the next 3 years, we plan to deploy 2.5 lakh units of Micro ATMs across urban and rural India and aim to take banking to every doorstep of rural India. Three years down the line we plan to establish our presence in Pan India.
Who is your preferred customer in this niche?
Our preferred niche customer base is in rural areas across the country. Our main customer segment includes farmers, women, workers on a daily wage basis.
