Food aggregators Zomato and Swiggy had halted their functioning in Hyderabad on May 22, because the police seized delivery vehicles and fined the delivery executives.
On May 23rd, Director-General of Police, Mahender Reddy instructed the Commissioners of Police to look into the grievances of people and ensure smooth delivery of essentials to the doorstep. Earlier this month, food aggregators Zomato and Swiggy had halted their functioning in Hyderabad on May 22, because the police seized delivery vehicles and fined the delivery executives. Both platforms started functioning again at 1130 am with a limited fleet in operation.
After the vehicles were seized, heads of various delivery platforms had a discussion with the authorities for clarity. Following the discussion, DGP of Telangana clarified provisions of seamless services.
