What were you doing before you joined the PG program in Cloud Computing?

Ans: I just took on a new project to develop a brand new cloud service on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. I am the head of the engineering team.

Why did you choose us?

Ans: Based on the detailed course information on your website. Also based on the UT Austin brand image.

Did you have any apprehensions in learning in an online medium and how were those mitigated?

Ans: Yes, I wasn’t sure how collaborative it will be. I have done some online courses with other schools and they were entirely recorded. Here there were live mentor sessions. Also, I liked the way the course materials were delivered early on. I liked the periodic quizzes and labs so my learning is fortified. Program managers were always available for any consultation and help.

At Great Learning, We have pioneered mentored learning sessions. Tell us how important these sessions were for you?

Very important!

What is the role of your mentors in your success? How well do you think your mentors supported you during the course of the program?

The mentor sessions were well-paced. In all sessions, the instructors answered everyone’s questions. I also liked the way these sessions had a different, practical spin to them, instead of merely being an extension to the study material. That made them feel more real and more classroom-like.

How did you feel about the support you received throughout the journey?

Ans: Very good in terms of adjusting the program start date. Any lab issues I had and any technical help needed.

What have you accomplished from your newly learned skill sets?

Ans: As a new cloud organization owner, I wanted to get a good overview and hands-on knowledge of all major cloud providers and I thought I met that goal.

What advice would you give to people who are just starting with learning Cloud Computing?

Simply go along with the course. Read the material before and follow the pace of the course. Take on one topic at a time.
