Her voice from Rait Zaraa Si has still not left me, for it touched the strings of my heart. One can go on listening to Shashaa Tirupati who’s set to also release her next extended play record (EP) I Am Sorry Heart after In My Skin. She’s truly on cloud 9 for the appreciation she’s gotten for this song with Arijit Singh from Atrangi Re.
I asked Shashaa what is it that makes AR Rahman the legend that he is, considering she’s spent a lot of time working with him on films like OK Jaanu and Atrangi Re.
Talking about Rahman, Shashaa expressed,
What makes him who he is, is probably the fact that he is so fearless. The fact that he doesn’t think about how people are going to be perceive of what he is doing. That’s the best part. That’s why you see such a plethora of variety in his work. What I love about working with him is that, his energy seeps into you. As a human being, there’s some take away from him every time. At a lot of times, we don’t even record it, we just talk. The things he talks about, stays back with you for life.
She feels honoured to have worked with someone like Rahman, but there’s also a long list of people she’d love to work with.
I’ve had the honour to work with Rahman sir, Mithun, but there are people on my checklist who I truly, madly want to work with. It’s Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who I’m dying to sing for. I am a huge fan of his since Devdas days and I was a huge Shreya Ghoshal fan I wanted to become like her, I still want to. Ajay-Atul – I really want to sing for them. Then there’s Vishal Shekhar. I recently sung for a commercial starring Big B and Katrina Kaif but I’d love to sing a full-fledged song for them. There are so many people who I want to work with but actually.
Her EP In My Skin got widely appreciated and now her second song from the EP, I Am Sorry Heart will be out soon. This one is actually the title track of the EP, and it comes from the singer’s own experiences about love.
My EP has so much heart and soul into it. It’s about one sided love and relationships which all of you will be able to relate to. In the course of the next four months, we will be releasing a new song every month.
