How to soak chia seeds in water

  • Take a glass and pour water into a cup or glass.
  • Add a teaspoon or two teaspoonfuls of chia seeds to the glass of water.
  • Stir well and keep stirring for few minutes.
  • They do not settle at the bottom and needs stirring properly for them to get mixed well.
  • Let them sit in water for at least 30 minutes to 1 hour or 2 hours if not in a hurry.
  • They need to be stirred in between soaking to help all the seeds plump up well.
  • They absorb water and expand at least ten times their size after soaking.
  • These soaked seeds chia water expand in their size and using chia seeds in soaked form is more beneficial than not in a soaked form.
  • The flavor is mild and does not actually contain any taste to define. It’s just a plain drink.
  • Now add some lemon extract to improve flavor and can taste good and help to drink easily.
  • Also, add honey to make it sweeter and help to consume easily plus it also has its own benefits and adding honey lemon to chia water is more advisable than just using plain soaked water.

Yes, once they are soaked, they can be stored in a container that is airtight and store the drink in the refrigerator and consume when required. They can last up to few days if stored well in the fridge.

Can I use warm water to soak the seeds?

Yes, warm water in place of cold water too can be used to soak the seeds. Let the seeds soak for few minutes in warm water too before consuming.

How much quantity of chia seeds can I use per day?

Try not to use 1.5 to 2 teaspoons of chia seeds a day. Overconsumption too causes risks and side effects and can harm the body.
