Chilli Cheese Bajji
Mirchi Bajji or Mulaga Bajji is one of my all time favourite. I have shared a traditional bajji recipe here, but this has been my mind of quite long time and finally i made it couple days back and when i tasted it it was delicious.
I used my homemade bajji bonda mix which i was having in my fridge for quite a long time. if you don’t have that, you can just use a normal bajji batter which i have mentioned in the written part of the recipe..

Ingredients for Chilli Cheese Bajji
- Bajji Bonda Mix – 2 cup (Recipe here)
- Banana Peppers / Bajji Mirchi – 6
- Oil for deep frying
- Water as needed
- Chaat Masala Powder to taste
For Filling:
- Onion – ½ cup chopped finely
- Cheese – 1 cup grated
- Salt to taste
- Coriander Leaves – 4 tbsp finely chopped
For Bajji Bonda Mix:(Mix all ingredients)
- Gram Flour / Kadalai Mavu – 1 cup
- Rice Flour / Arisi Mavu – ¼ cup
- Ginger Garlic Paste – 1 tbsp
- Chilli Powder – 1 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Baking Soda / Cooking Soda – ¼ tsp
- Asafoetida / Hing / Kaya podi – ¼ tsp
- Water – ¾ cup or adjust

How to make Chilli Cheese Bajji
- Mix all the ingredients for filling really well. So the cheese gets mushed into the onions.
- Now slit banana pepper in the middle, fill it with filling.
- Now mix water with bajji bonda mix and make a little thick batter.
- Coat the mirchi with the batter and drop in hot oil and fry till golden on both sides.
- Sprinkle top with some chat masala and serve.
