SPIL, Mumbai is organising the 13th Government Law College International Law Summit, 2023 on ‘International Taxation Law’ and seeking registrations for the same.
About the Organisation
Students for the Promotion of International Law (SPIL), Mumbai, as the name suggests, is a student body which cynosures International Law at GLC Mumbai.
About the International Law Summit
The theme of the 13th Government Law College International Law Summit, 2023 is ‘International Taxation Law’. The Summit is scheduled to take place from the 31st March to 2nd April, 2023.
The Summit will stimulate the minds of attendees through thought provoking interactions with experts and doyens of the legal fraternity. As we explore the seemingly endless territory of international law, we hope to cater to pertinent issues of the day.
The Summit, aside from the Keynote Address, Panel Discussion and Call for Papers, comprises the Judgment Deliberation Competition which was conceived within the portals of our institution.
About the Judgment Deliberation Competition
The JDC essentially expects participants to arrive at a judgment, after analysis of facts and arguments presented from both sides. The competition has been inspired by the procedures of various judicial bodies and tribunals that span the spectrum of international law.
Bringing a fresh approach to problem analysis and judgment making, it requires participants to arrive at a judgment that is infallible in law, rational in thought, and innovative in its essence.
Eligibility
Students of any university on a full-time or part-time basis in either a 3-year LLB or a 5- year
integrated BA/BBA/ BSC/ BCOM/ BLS LLB course at the time of the competition are eligible to participate in the Competition.
Team Composition
A Team shall be composed of two (2) members: Judge and Judicial Clerk. These roles are
interchangeable only upon the commencement of a new round.
Please note that the students can register individually for the competition, they do not need to register through their college.
Awards
The Awards Sponsor for 13th Government Law College International Law Summit is ALMT Legal. The awards shall be presented as:
- Best Team: INR 35,000/-
- Runners Up: INR 25,000/-
- Best Written Judgment: INR 15,000/-
- Best Speaker: 10,000/-

- Dates of the Competition: March 31 to April 2, 2023.
- Last date for registration for the Judgment Deliberation Competition: March 11, 2023.
- Last date for sending clarification requests: March 11, 2023.
- Last date for sending the written submissions: March 25, 2023.
