He tried to slit his wrist with a sharp cutter but was stopped in the middle of the act after advocate Mahesh Rawoo, who was standing close to him intervened and managed to restrain him.
The man was subsequently, taken into custody by the Mumbai Police.
The incident transpired inside the court room presided by Justice PD Naik. The bench had rejected his plea prompting him to resort to the extreme measure.
