Speaking to Bar & Bench, Singh said:
“Today, I have resigned from the position of the ASG after serving the Government of India for more than three years. I am thankful to the Government of India and particularly, Shri Tushar Mehta for extending this wonderful opportunity to represent and serve the Union. Interestingly, I discussed my exit with Shri Mehta somewhere in the month of June and requested him to relieve me from my duties by November, to which he gracefully agreed. I have immensely gained from this opportunity by representing the government on varied subjects and issues. I have served to the best of my ability and integrity.”
