Allahabad High Court reverts to virtual hearing after 8 judges test positive for Covid-19

The decision to revert to virtual hearing was taken in a meeting of the administrative committee of the High Court held under the chairmanship of Chief Justice Rajesh Bindal.

In the meeting, it was also informed that the Registrar (Protocol) of High Court tested positive today.

The decision to switch back to virtual mode came just after 6 days when the High Court had decided to allow hybrid mode of hearing in which lawyers have the option to appear physically or via video conference.

Last week, three judges of Allahabad High Court had tested positive and now, a total of eight judges (3 from Lucknow, 5 from Prayagraj) are infected with covid-19.

According to sources, all the judges have self-isolated themselves in their respective residences.
