Checkmate is a first-of-a-kind competition for law school students, wherein the students are provided with an opportunity to put forward their views on, the challenges that law schools currently face and design solutions for such identified issue/s through a proposal.
About the Organization
Gradyoumate Foundation is a social initiative started with the goal of supporting and helping deserving law students achieve their dreams without any financial barriers. Through the belief that extra-curricular activities like debates, internships, moot courts, etc., are critical parts of legal learning and ought not to be missed out on due to financial constraints, Gradyoumate provides tailored financial assistance programs (i.e. My Protege and Project Bridge) centered on law school activities such as internships, certificate courses, moot courts, and so on, wherein the associated fees are partially/fully supported.
The Foundation has been able to support many students in pursuing career-advancing courses and knowledge-building activities since its formation.
About the Event
Checkmate’23 is a first of its kind competition where students are provided with an opportunity to put forward their views on the challenges that law schools currently face and design solutions for such identified issue/s. We anticipate a healthy deliberation on a diverse set of problems that are currently preventing students from achieving excellence in various facets of legal learning. The first round shall consist of a 250 word abstract submission, basis which a selected group of participants will proceed to the finale.
Eligibility Criteria
3 year/5 year law students, LLM students, and scholars pursuing PHDs in Law; A team can consist of a maximum two people, and cross teams are permitted.
