A notification to that effect was published by the Union Ministry of Law and Justice of the Central Government.
“In exercise of the power conferred by clause (l) of Article 224 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint (i) Ms. Nidumolu Mala, and (ii) Shri S. Sounthar, to be Additional Judges of the Madras High Court, for a period of two years, with effect from the date they assume charge of their respective offices“, the notification reads.
Both lawyers who have been appointed as additional judges were recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium on February 16, 2022, along with four others.
