About the University

Founded on the vision of Dr. Karsanbhai K. Patel, the Institute of Law, Nirma University (ILNU), established in 2007, focuses on bringing a paradigm shift in the delivery of legal education in the country.

About the Conference

The Conference on Climate Change, scheduled for 1st & 2nd June, 2024, at the Institute of Law, Nirma University, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, aims to address the pressing issue of climate change.

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has highlighted the significant increase in greenhouse gas concentrations in the earth’s atmosphere over the past century, primarily due to human activity.

Developed nations, having contributed substantially to this problem, bear a greater responsibility for taking swift action to mitigate further damage.Recognizing the urgent need for action, the conference advocates for an integrated approach involving multiple stakeholders to educate present and future generations about climate change.

Eligibility

Academicians, legal practitioners, research scholars, professionals, policymakers, and students are invited to submit papers relevant to the conference theme and sub-themes.

Location

The conference shall take place in hybrid mode. The offline sessions shall take place at the Institute of Law, Nirma University, Ahmedabad.

Submission Guidelines

  • Only original, unpublished work on the conference is requested. Submissions that include essentially the same work that has previously been published or is under review for publication at another conference or journal will not be accepted.
  • An Abstract of not more than 300 words accompanied by 5-6 keywords
  • Submission of abstract and research paper should include a separate title page.
  • The Final paper should be between 4,000 to 6,000 words inclusive of Footnotes.
  • All Submissions should strictly follow the given Formatting Style: Heading – Times New Roman 14 point, Text Font – Times New Roman 12 point, Margin – 1 inch all sides Line spacing – 1.5 lines, single column
  • Co-authorship is restricted to two members only.
  • All submitted work should mandatorily have a similarity index below 10%.
  • The Citation style shall be OSCOLA 4th edition
  • The decision of the screening committee regarding the selection of the paper for the Conference shall be final.
  • Upon selection of the abstract, the participants shall register by paying the prescribed registration fee. The mode and procedure of payment of the registration fees shall be notified in due course to the selected participants.
  • Registration fee includes access to all sessions, conference materials, etc.
