Delhi High Court starts publishing its judgments in Hindi

Some of the judgements passed by the bench of Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice Subramonium Prasad were published in Hindi in the judgment section of the Delhi High Court’s website.

The judgments have been translated through the Artificial Intelligence (AI) tool – Supreme Court Vidhik Anuvaad Software (SUVAS).

However, the translated copies of the judgment made it clear that the vernacular language judgement is for the restricted use of the litigants to understand it in their own language and may not be used for any other purpose.

“For all practical and official purpose, the English version of the judgment shall be authentic and shall hold the field for the purpose of execution and implementation,” said the disclaimer at the end of the judgment.

Meanwhile, the Bombay High Court also started publishing its judgments in the State’s vernacular, Marathi on Wednesday.
