Notably, some of the accused before the trial court have opposed the commencement of arguments on framing of charge in the case on the ground that the investigation is not yet complete in the matter and there is no clarity on when the same will conclude.
The accused have said that if they start arguing the case without completion of the investigation, it would open their defence to the prosecution which could then file subsequent chargesheets bringing in new statements and evidence on record.
