Ganesh Visarjan: Bombay High Court asks Aarey monitoring committee to see if enough artificial ponds are available

A bench of Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya and Justice Arif S Doctor clarified that the Court’s endeavour was not to hurt anybody’s religious feelings but to protect the natural surroundings.

All these are matters to be considered by experts. What would suffice – whether it is one artificial pond or six or one truck-mounted tank or ten – is up to the monitoring committee. We will ask the committee to consider and take an appropriate decision. If it is adequate, then fine. If not, then we are only saying that arrangements can be made,” the Court further observed.
