An application had been filed in the petition seeking direction to governments to take steps to ensure that no such incident happen at the site.
However, the High Court said that since it is a suo motu petition, the application has to either come through an amicus curiae or a separate petition should be filed.
The applicant, therefore, withdrew his application.
