The Court made the remark while hearing a power of attorney (LPA) matter.
The counsel pointed out that usually, such matters don’t include an index. To this, the Chief Justice replied,
“Don’t tell me normally. What normally? Normally you don’t give index?”
She then passed the file to the lawyer and asked him to find the page he was referring to. However, the counsel sought time to argue the matter.
The Court scheduled the hearing for May 1, emphasising that it would not be postponed further, as it was 10 years old.
