How did you Apply?
I went through the website of Arms Length Legal and wrote a mail to contactus@armslengthlegal.com, attaching my CV and statement of purpose.
Then I was given a worksheet (High order thinking test skill) which comprised some law-related questions to be answered within the time slot mentioned.
According to my performance, I was selected for the internship. The website for the firm can be accessed here: https://armslengthlegal.com/
First-Day Formalities, Infrastructure, First Impression
On the very first day sir and I had an interaction related to all my areas of interest. Then sir taught me how to proceed with the reading of judgments. I was given a set of judgments to read and analyse the situation and prepare case briefs for the same.
Main Tasks
The main tasks in the internship involved research and writing, reading judgments and preparing case summaries, drafting writs, and drafting legal representation and legal notices.
Also, we used to discuss different cases and present the same which helped me to boost my confidence and inculcate good presentation skills.
Work Environment
The work environment was very peaceful and I always felt at ease. Sir is quite friendly and easy to approach for any doubts or clarifications.
The office timings were from 10 am to 6 pm but since we had our college lectures we were allowed to work part-time and report to the firm after the completion of our lectures. We also used to discuss the topics of law related to our semester syllabus.
It was a great opportunity to work in Arms Length Legal as I was able to learn much about the legal field. Sir used to explain to me my mistake and the ways to check them.
Bad things
I didn’t find any bad things as such while working in the firm.
Stipend
The performance-based stipend was given.
