How did you apply for the internship?

Email at career@gdbansal.in, I submitted my CV. The call for an interview was floated after 5-10 days.

First-day formalities, infrastructure, first impression

I was briefed about the firm and I was given basic research on trademarks.

Main tasks

Research & Drafting work on:

  1. Search report.
  2. Written submissions.
  3. Trademark Journal.
  4. Case briefing of applications.
  5. Reply to Legal Notices.
  6. Landmark judgments on prior user, honest and concurrent user, first in the mark etc.

Work environment

The firm has a friendly atmosphere where all the associates and interns communicate as equals, so I quickly got used to an environment that was new for me. I received comprehensive answers to all my questions and they never left me without useful feedback.

Good things

They teach you the technical aspects of the work at hand, improving practical skills such as drafting and thinking on your feet. It was an introduction to a completely new avenue and I found it extremely interesting.

Bad things

The mantra is to keep asking for as much work as you can. But this gets hectic at times.

Stipend/perks/certificate

No stipend was provided.

Details about accommodation and commute

I commuted from home to the workplace, which was hectic but worth the learning experience.

Anything else?

Not everything was good enough.
