First-Day Formalities, Infrastructure, First Impression

It all felt really professional and and the people that were working in the organisation were all very passionate and the infrastructure of the office really gave out the load of work there is to do and then got acquainted with the team the staff and got a desk assigned for me.

Main Tasks

  • I used to do research work
  • Communicating with the clients a day prior to the date at court
  • Attending the matters of my advocate’s clients and miscellaneous court work, Drafting, E-filing
  • Attended matters at the District Court, High Court and Supreme Court as well as the tribunals.

Work Environment

Very Professional, passionate in their assigned roles, very helpful to each other and the seniors were very kind and supportive to the juniors and interns. Taught about how to go about the matters and cases in a very easy manner and encouraged to go and communicate with the clients to build the relationship with clients.

Good things

  • Learned a lot about the functioning of different courts
  • Learned how to listen and how to respond in a sophisticated and professional manner with the judges as well as clients.
  • Learned a lot of legal terminologies
  • Built a lot of new connections via cases and clients and advocates

Bad things

  • Long hours at courts
  • Attending several matters in a day
  • Commuting from one court to another and long-standing hours
  • Having to wear the black coat in the hot summers
  • It comes with a lot of work pressure and deadlines
  • A lot of reading and research work to do

Accommodation & Conveyance to Office

Accommodation was at a pG nearby office and the office was also located nearby the courts and the conveyance to office was via public transport and transport to courts and other places was looked after by the senior advocates in their respective vehicles.
