First day formalities, infrastructure, first impression
On the first day of my internship, I was given a brief about the organization’s working culture by my internship coordinator Priyanka Mam. She also introduced me to other senior associates at the firm. However, I met our heads Mr. Mahendra Gargieya Sir and Devang Sir the next day.
The particulars about working at the remote desktop connection were communicated to me and I was asked to read the SOP as to what work I am supposed to do and how.
As a law student and having a keen interest in Taxation Laws, I aim to leverage my skills and interest in the field of law, This whole internship was really an enriching experience.
Main tasks
- Most of the work allotted to the interns was related to direct tax matters only.
- Apart from understanding the basic structure and practical aspects of the same, sound files were allocated frequently, including minute drafting-related works, so we can understand how various drafts and pleadings are to be made in different cases.
- Moreover, the other miscellaneous works included preparing Paper book indexes for the cases, reading important sections, case files, etc.
- I could find myself involved in each and every work at the firm during my whole tenure.
Work environment
All the associates and other employees at the organization were very supportive, interactive, and helpful. I could find myself involved in each and every work at the firm during my whole tenure. All in all, it was really a wonderful and enriching experience working at Mahendra Gargeiya and Associates.
