First-Day Formalities, Infrastructure, First Impression

All the office formalities were already done via mail. I just had to show up in the Office. I got introduced to the Legal Department Team by HR and was assigned under the Legal Head of Nuvoco Vistas. It is an open office; infrastructure cannot be questioned.

Main Tasks

Tasks are not confined to one legal aspect, as this is a corporate office, there is a variety of tasks that will be assigned. Some of them are:

• Research on any topic;
• Research and make a draft on current legal matters as well as cases related to different fields of law which might go for publication in the newsletter;
• Revision/redrafting/drafting of affidavit;
• Unlimited case briefs and agreement briefs
• Drafting amendments to the agreements
• Drafting agreements
• Work environment
• Everyone here is friendly.

Good things

I never felt discouraged. I was assigned work I have never done before still, but I did it, they pointed out mistakes 10 times in a single draft and asked me to redo it unless I learned it to do on my own without any mistakes. There’s always room for learning.

Accommodation & Conveyance to Office 

I was staying in Andheri (East) which was 5-6 km away from the office, but it used to take 30-40 minutes to reach the office in the morning and 40-50 minutes way back home, through local autos.

Stipend

Rs. 8000 per month.

Anything else?

There is a cafeteria on the office floor which serves really good food (Breakfast- 35/- and Lunch 75/- for veg and 100/- for non-veg) I used to explore food stalls and beaches nearby on the weekend as Saturday-Sunday is fully off. Some food places are Vile Parle, Carter Road, Bandstand Linking Road, Hill Road, Juhu silver beach, and Khar West. 

Tips- Complete your work in the office itself never leave your work for home. Also, no one is going to come to you and assign you any work, you have to ask for work every time if you really want to learn anything.
