First-Day Formalities, Infrastructure, First Impression
One must reach on time at 10:00 PM in proper formals. Working hours are “strictly” from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. This rule shall apply throughout your internship to maintain discipline in the office. As a matter of first impression, it would only be created by excelling at the tasks that you have been allotted.
Over time as you settle and know the drill, you would be overwhelmed with the different research problems on the law. And that’s the best part! During your internship, sir will gauge your dedication to work through your conduct. So just try to be punctual and professional in whatever you do.
Main Tasks
My main tasks were to research the case laws and to make a case with respect to the research question that has been given to me. I got the opportunity to work on areas such as Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, IPC, CrPc, CPC, Constitutional Law and other commercial matters.
You would be expected to be “thorough” with your research and the case laws. Over time, you would more or less become an expert when it comes to analyzing the judgements. Honestly, I developed this skill during my internship with Sir.
Work Environment
The work environment is good and pretty chill. If you face any issues while working then the associates will help you with it.
Good things & Bad things
One of the best things to intern with Ankit Sir is that once you perform well, Sir will give you free rein over the matters. Once you prove yourself out there, you will become an intrinsic part of his chambers and believe me I mean it.
It means that your suggestion/arguments will not only be taken into consideration but will also find a place in his submissions to the court. This sort of encouragement will be so valuable to you during your internship.
Accommodation & Conveyance to Office
I put up in Delhi. I commuted by car to the East of Kailash. I interned with Sir in August 2021 when the courts were not open for physical hearings. You might have to follow up with sir for the location of your internship.
Stipend
Yes, sir firmly believe in compensation for the hard work that has been put in by the interns. I got a performance-based stipend. If you work with your full dedication, you’re gonna find this as your best internship to date.
