Established in 2001, the University School of Law and Legal Studies (USLLS) aimed to administer a Five Year Integrated Professional Law Course and function as an institution for advanced legal studies and has become one of India’s top law Universities.

It marked a significant milestone as the first University Law School situated in close proximity to the Supreme Court, Delhi High Court, subordinate courts, commissions, tribunals, and the monitoring offices of national and international voluntary organizations.

The University School of Law and Legal Studies is committed to advancing institutional expertise in legal research and education by enhancing academic and professional excellence. This commitment involves fostering critical engagement with legal theory and practice, integrating law, research, education, and action to contribute to the pursuit of justice.

The institution aspires to broaden its horizons in the realms of law, legal studies, and theoretical and clinical legal education. This continuous effort includes developing academic potential, critical analytical ability, advocacy, counselling, and mediation skills to thoroughly equip students with intellectually stimulating, socially relevant, and professionally enriching learning experiences.

The overarching objective is to establish itself as an internationally recognized centre for education and research.

About IPR WEEK

The event aims to spotlight the importance of intellectual property rights in driving innovation and economic growth. Throughout the week, participants will engage in panel discussions, a guest lecture, and activities such as case studies, paper presentation, movie screening and a patent drafting competition addressing topics including copyright law, patent law, trademarks, and emerging trends in intellectual property.

IPR Week aims to empower participants to navigate the complex landscape of intellectual property law with confidence and integrity, contributing to the advancement of innovation and creativity within the academic community and beyond.

Structure of the Event

  • 22nd April – Inaugration Ceremony and Guest Lecture
  • 23rd April – Quiz Competition and Movie Screening
  • 24th April – Paper Presentation
  • 25th April – Patent Drafting Competition and Case Study Competition
  • 26th April – Panel Discussion and Valedictory Ceremony

Eligibility

Students pursuing 3-year or 5-year law degree in a BCI recognised college/university.
