About the Position
Nyaaya is seeking an experienced Senior Lawyer to take charge of spearheading the development and implementation of legal awareness initiatives and video content in Kannada. Nyaaya is looking for an experienced lawyer with more than 5 years of experience to lead their work in Karnataka.
They are looking for someone who is passionate about changing the way citizens interact with the law. They should be equipped with fluency in the Kannada language, be able to create and disseminate legal content in Kannada in a wide variety of ways, and plan and implement collaborative projects with governmental and non-governmental organizations in Karnataka.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Your primary task will be to lead the Nyaaya Kannada vertical.
- You will work closely with the team to ensure fast-paced content development while ensuring the quality and accuracy of the final content. Content can be in written, audio, and visual formats.
- You will also be planning the dissemination of Nyaaya’s Kannada content across various platforms, including the Nyaaya website and social media channels.
- You will be creating content for campaigns (both online and offline) and working with the Outreach Lead to ensure the reach of Nyaaya’s content.
- You will be planning, finalizing, and implementing collaborations with governmental and non-governmental organizations in Karnataka.
- You will be managing the Nyaaya Kannada social media platforms and will be closely working with the Nyaaya Content Lead and Communications Manager to plan and implement the Nyaaya Kannada Social Media Calendar.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Minimum five years of experience in either practicing or teaching law.
- Fluency (particularly, in writing) in Kannada and English is mandatory for this role.
- Strong research and writing skills.
- Ability to take ownership of a project and manage end-to-end execution.
- Ability to work in a cross-functional team.
- Strong leadership abilities are essential for effectively guiding and collaborating with a diverse team of lawyers.
- The role requires frequent travel to various locations in Karnataka to conduct and coordinate on-ground legal awareness programs and video shoots.
- The role involves close interaction with multiple state and NGO partners. Your capacity to establish and maintain productive relationships with these stakeholders will be crucial.
Desirable
- Previous experience in Kannada research and content writing is desirable.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing strategies for the Kannada audience.
- Experience in creating engaging video content in Kannada.
