Eligibility

  • At least 3 years working experience
  • University degree in law
  • Good knowledge of data protection laws and best practices and/or strong desire to learn data protection laws for India and Europe (knowledge of the GDPR helpful)
  • Good project management, team working and presentation skills, as well as strong written and verbal communication
  • Fluency in English and the main language in India
  • Assertive and convincing personality, high level of commitment and flexibility
  • Ability to work in an international environment

Job Responsibilities

The local DPPC/DPO is the main driver for data protection compliance in India.

  • Support the local CFOs for their assigned region in fulfilling their local responsibilities for data privacy issues,
  • Fulfill and/or support reporting obligations and other responsibilities towards local management in accordance with applicable law,
  • Monitor compliance with local privacy regulations and other applicable laws and policies,
  • Analyze changes to local laws and provide gap analysis and support to local implementation projects including data protection impact assessments,
  • Raise management awareness of data privacy compliance issues,
  • Represent SAP’s Group Data Privacy Officer (DPO) within SAP’s Indian entities based on guidance provided by the DPO team,
  • Assist in strengthening the global data protection community within SAP,
  • Support in case of:
  • Inquiries from regulatory authorities in the assigned region,
  • Data privacy breaches,
  • Escalations triggered by a data subject; or
  • Other supervisory requests.
  • Act as main point of contact for local supervisory authorities,
  • Act as the point of contact for grievance redressal,
  • Assist with periodic data protection audits,
  • Provide education and training,
  • Ensure documentation of data privacy compliance based on DPP Control Framework.
