Recently, coming down heavily on the CBI, a Bench led by the Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court had said that “it seems that the CBI is trying to protect the accused”.
On July 28, 2021, Uttam Anand, a judge of the Dhanbad court was on a morning walk, when he was knocked down by an auto rickshaw.
He suffered severe injuries and later died during the course of treatment.
Initially, the matter was being probed by the Jharkhand Police.
While it was initially believed to be an accident, CCTV footage of the incident surfaced suggesting that the vehicle was deliberately rammed into the judge as he was walking along the edge of the road.
