Metropolitan Magistrate Manoj Kaushal of Tis Hazari Court ordered that an action-taken report in this regard be submitted by May 1, the next date of hearing.
The incident came to light after sub-inspector (SI) Manoj Tomar was seen in a viral video hitting those offering prayers at Delhi’s Inderlok area near near the Makki Jama Masjid.
In the video, Tomar was seen kicking and shoving people praying on the road, and even shouting and stepping on the prayer mats used by them.
The SI was suspended on March 8 after protests and widespread outrage on social media.
