Mumbai Police books BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma over remarks against Prophet Mohammed

The FIR has been registered at Pydhonie police station, Mumbai based on a complaint filed by one Irfan Shaikh, the joint secretary of Raza Academy, Mumbai wing.

In his statement attached to the FIR, Shaikh stated that he received a message on WhatsApp which comprised link of a Twitter post.

The link opened to a video clip of a news debate on Times Now news channel on the Gyanvapi Mosque issue, in which Sharma made certain objectionable remarks against the Islam Prophet Mohammed and his wife Ayesha, both of whom, are worshipped by the Muslims.

Shaikh contended that due to such statements, Sharma hurt religious sentiments of the entire Muslim community.
