Markaz Law College, Kozhikode in Collaboration with Kerala State Legal Service Authority in organising a Three-Day National Seminar on –Contours of debate: Revisting Basic Structure Doctrine on December 2, 2023.

About the organisation

The Markaz law College (MLC), established in 2014 is a Centre for legal studies, legal research and law reforms. The College, affiliated to the University of Calicut, offers Undergraduate programs in B.B.A., LL.B.(Hons), LLB Unitary three-year course and post-Graduate courses of LL.M (Constitutional Law), LL.M (Commercial Law).

Department is actively engaged in extension activities like giving legal aid to poor through permanently established Kerala University Legal Services Clinic, Legal Literacy camps, training programmes seminars and workshops.

About the Seminar

Markaz Law College in collaboration with Kerala State Legal Services Authority (KELSA) and IQAC, MLC is organizing a Three-Day National Seminar on ‘Constitutional Law’ – Contours of Debate: Revisting Basic Structure Doctrine an Overview of Legal and Regulatory Framework’ on December 2nd 2023 from the Markaz Law College, Kaithapoyil, Kozhikode, Kerala.

Who can attend?

The Organizing Committee is calling for Research Articles from Law Students, Academicians, Lawyers, Social Workers, Policy Makers, and Officials from various Departments- Representatives from Institutions and Professionals; NGO, Social Activists, Social Science Researchers and Faculty and Research Scholars.

  • Judicial Expositions Leading to Kesavananda Bharti Case
  • Post Kesavananda Bharti judicial trend
  • Parliamentary democracy and the doctrine
  • Basic Structure Doctrine’s Relevance in analysing the Vires of Ordinary Laws

Rules for Participation

  • No abstract or full paper shall be accepted after the last date of submission respectively
  • For participation, registration is mandatory on confirmation of the participation.
  • Only registered participants will be allowed to take part in Conference.
  • All the registered participants will be provided a participation certificate
  • All Co-authors have to register separately Registration can be done on spot for participation
  • No TA/DA will be provided by the host institution; however, local hospitality will be provided to all participants by MLC.

Submission Guidelines

  • The abstract and full paper must be submitted only in Microsoft Word Format, Times New Romans Font Size 12 & 1.5 spaced.
  • Every submission should be accompanied by an abstract of 250-300 words describing the relevant conclusions drawn in the manuscript.
  • The abstract must also contain details such as the sub theme which your manuscript comes, Title of the paper, Name of the Author, Institution/ University/Organisation, E-mail address and Contact number.
  • The full paper should be between 5000 – 6000 words (max)
  • Footnotes: Times New Roman 10 font size,1.5-line space
  • Co-authorship is allowed only up to 2 authors.
  • Citation: followed should be Blue -Book 21st edition
  • The Editorial Committee will review the abstracts and full papers and information regarding acceptance, modifications and presentation shall be communicated to the authors. A seminar volume consisting of qualified papers will be published with ISSN number
  • All entries must be original and unpublished work of the authors and should not have been submitted for publication/published elsewhere. Any sort of plagiarism will not be entertained.

  • Last date of submission of Full paper – 26th November 2023
  • Last Date of Payment of Fee -November 26

Fee

  • Professionals and Academicians: 1000 INR.
  • Research Scholars: 500 INR
  • Students: 300 INR
  • Foreign Students and Academicians: 50 USD
