[NEET UG 2021] Supreme Court rejects plea alleging OMR sheet tampering

The Court noted that the six petitioners were shown their OMR sheets which had been uploaded and five of them confirmed that those were their original OMR sheets.

The Court further said that OMR sheets on record were the ones which bore the original handwriting of the petitioner-candidates and had the signatures of both invigilators and the candidates.

Hence, it cannot be said that the National Testing Agency has engaged in fabrication or tampering of any kind, the Bench of Justices DY Chandrachud and AS Bopanna ruled.

It cannot be prima facie be suggested that there were any acts of tampering or manipulation in the back office of National Testing Agency. The examination has been attempted by 15.44 lakh candidates out of which six have come to this court. Five have verified their OMR sheet along with their parents. Petition dismissed,” the Court ordered.
