NGT exempts Kerala from paying ₹2,000 crore penalty imposed for improper waste management

In an affidavit filed by the Kerala Government, the NGT was told that ₹ 2,000 crores have already been set aside by the State for resolving waste disposal issues. It also said that a total of ₹2,343 crores was allocated for treatment of septage and canal sludge.
