The Court noted that the PIL highlighted cruel treatment to rodents, birds, lizards, snakes, bats, squirrels and other small animals by virtue of glue traps, which also pose disease risk to humans.
Accordingly, the Court determined that the issue requires consideration and therefore, directed Additional Government Pleader (AGP) to get the response of the State government, Gujarat State Animal Welfare Board and the Director of Animal Husbandry.
The matter will be heard further on July 5.
