[Satish Tickoo murder] Lawyer files plea for adjournment of case after he was allegedly denied security; J&K Police deny his claim

The application for adjournment was filed through Delhi based Lawyer Utsav Bains in a revision plea seeking setting aside an order passed by the court below that had dismissed an application filed by Tickoo’s brother Maharaj Krishan.

The dismissed petition sought a proper, fair and impartial investigation into the murder allegedly committed by former JKLF terrorist Bitta Karate in 1990.

Farooq Ahmad Dar alias Bitta Karate had allegedly shot dead businessman Satish Tickoo outside his residence at the Habba Kadal area of Srinagar on February 2, 1990. Karate was arrested in connection with the murder, and was released on bail after 16 years, even as he spent the time in jail without conviction.
