The main grievance of the petitioner was that the Central government was insisting on sex reassignment surgery certificate for change of sex in passport.
Form-4 (Certificate of Identity for change of gender) does not require production of the certificate, the petitioner highlighted.
During one of the previous hearings in the case, the petitioner underlined that as far as the change in gender for transgender individuals was concerned, the Central government had changed the policy.
