Live transcription was launched on an experimental basis in the court room of the CJI.
Bar & Bench had first reported about the development and how the top court would be employing Artificial Intelligence (AI) and technology driven by Natural Language Processing for live transcription of its hearings.
The transcription service is being done by TERES, a company which has been providing this facility to arbitration practitioners.
CJI Chandrachud had remarked on Tuesday that this would be a huge resource for lawyers and law colleges alike.
“Members of the bar you can see a screen here. This is live transcript facility and this is an experiment. This is a huge resource not only for lawyers etc but also for the law colleges who will benefit“, he had said.
Justice PS Narasimha, who was on the bench with the CJI, had said that this would make the top court truly “court of record”.
