TN Advocate General sets up ICC to probe sexual harassment complaints against Madras High Court law officers

The move came after a complaint of sexual harassment was filed by a lawyer against a senior law officer of the High Court.

After the complaint was sent to the Advocate General, he constituted an ICC to deal with such matters, as contemplated under Section 4 of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act.

The committee will comprise the following members as per an order passed on November 23.

1. Senior Advocate R Vagai, Presiding Officer

2. Additional Advocate General-1 of Tamil Nadu Haja Nazirudeen, Member;

3. Special Government Pleader S Mythereye Chandru, Member;

4. Additional Public Prosecutor GV Kasthuri, Member;

5. Vidhya Reddy of TULIR (a non-profit working against sexual abuse), Member;

6. Deputy Director in the office of the AG, T Dharaneeswaran, Member-Secretary.
