About the Course

The interface between media and entertainment law is an emerging and interesting arena for the upcoming lawyers. The growth and advancement of Media and Entertainment has also led to an emerging jurisprudence of Media and Entertainment Law. A large number of litigations come from the media and entertainment field. Thus, it brings the most challenging and exciting opportunities for law students to apply their skills and represent the best interest of the client.

The value-added course on Media and Entertainment Laws is a blend of theoretical understanding of constitutional provisions and various legislations and agencies regulating media and entertainment law. Moreover, it infuses the practical understanding and developments of media law due to the dissemination of information through social media and Over-the-top (OTT) Platforms. The modules also explore the various social media crimes the emergence of OTT platforms and the issues allied with it. The course is open to all law students and legal practitioners.

Course Content

The course has been divided into Six Modules. The total Duration is 30 hours.

  • Module 1 – Media and Constitution of India (5 Hours)
  • Module 2 – Media and Social Movement (5 Hours)
  • Module 3 – Regulatory Mechanisms in Media and Entertainment Law (5 Hours)
  • Module 4 – Media and Entertainment Law – Transactional Services (5 Hours)
  • Module 5 – Media and Entertainment Law – Litigation Services (5 Hours)
  • Module 6 – Social Media Crimes and OTT Platforms (5 Hours)

Eligibility

Students pursuing UG and PG courses in any discipline.
