How did you Apply?

I applied through Google Form which was send by my classmate.

First Day Formalities, Infrastructure, First Impression

We first met on Zoom meeting for orientation program where Mr. Ajitesh Priyadarshi Sir has interacted with us and told our role as Case Managers in Online Lokadaalats & Mediation. Than we have been added in different groups district wise. My group coordinator was Syani Gupta, than we had a group meeting at Sama software for tasks and our responsibility.

Main Tasks

Our task was to convey the respondents on Call to solve their disputes out side the court i.e., through online Lokadalat via Sama Software. We have to coordinate with the Mediators before every meeting with the petitioner and respondent.

We have to write down everything that happened in the meeting and same has to be updated on the Sama’s website. We had the opportunity to observed the Mediation process of alternatively solving the disputes.

We had a great responsibility to try our level best to reduce the burden of judiciary which is overburdened with pending cases, and it was great responsibility also because we were handling real life cases.

Work Environment

Even though it was online we had a encouraging environment, people in my group are friendly we help each other while meetings, we respect the timings and classes of others we encourage each other for giving our precious time to Lokadalat. It was literally a great experience for me.

Good things

  • Work from home and comfortable.
  • Practical experience through virtual internship.
  • The very phrases of Sama “Samjhao Magar Pyaar Sey” motivates us to talk with the parties politely.
  • Helping hands for judiciary.
  • Can handle real life cases.
  • Certificate with Word Bank Logo and sign of Senior Economist, Team Lead (De Jure), World Bank
  • First-hand dispute resolution experience.
  • Case management experience.
  • The World Bank Group has also participated in this project as an independent evaluator.
  • Opportunities like these are rare.

Bad things

We have to be ready to work at any time in day, the respondent to whom we have to call are annoying and misunderstand us as few illiterate people don’t understand it easily, some used to be angry on the petitioners and we had to face it all. People generally don’t understand Lokadalats. Sometimes petitioners used to be unavailable, and used to have heavy work load. Also, within a week, we had to call hundreds of people .

Stipend

None.
