First-Day Formalities, Infrastructure, First Impression

I was briefed about my roles and responsibilities as an editor in a zoom meeting.

Main Tasks

I was supposed to supervise the works of 2 legal content writing interns under me each month. The interns would change every month. The work required me to weekly assign them cases for case summary writing which they would submit daily.

I would then be required to go through their submissions and guide them accordingly. Occasionally, I was supposed to give updates to the senior on the interns’ progress.

Work Environment

The work culture here is very good and progressive. The interns are very much respected and are given value for their hard work. There’s flexibility in the work timings.

I was even given the freedom to analyze the situation and make judgements at certain places, which helped me understand the pros and cons of what makes an internship successful.

Otherwise, the senior is always there to help resolve issues and clarify doubts at any point in time.

Good things

It paid me well. It helped me understand the nuances of making rapport with the seniors during the internship. I got better at analyzing situations and making judgments to help me react better at times of confusion.

I also got to learn a lot more about different subjects of law that I had already studied but had not paid much attention to earlier. I even enhanced my grammar, writing and editing skills.

Bad things

None at all.

Accommodation & Conveyance to Office

It was online.

Stipend

I got a remuneration of Rs. 1000/- each month.

Anything else?

I would highly recommend this internship if somebody wants to spend their time productively. It can help them financially and would definitely show them what are the mistakes or good points one can make while interning.

Since it enables one to see things from the point of view of a supervisor, one can understand what they have to do or do not have to do.
