First-Day Formalities, Infrastructure, First Impression

It was an online internship but as it was my first internship, it was a great learning experience to intern under a Supreme Court Advocate.

We were given specific tasks to complete each day. The topic was according to the YouTube video and that came to our help.

YouTube videos were on awareness of rape laws, what to do if the police refuse to file an FIR, drinking water rights, contractual obligation and many more. At the time of writing this experience, I was on Task 30.

Main Tasks

The task file was based on a YouTube video of Sir. The video helped us research more about the said topic and this is true for every task. In each task, we were provided with a video of sir explaining the relevant provisions and case laws which helped us solve the legal problem of the client.

The first 5-6 topics were about rape laws and the task revolved around counselling the client in their legal problem. We had to write an opinion in 300-1500 words and try to solve the problem through extensive research. There was another task that involved client counselling. In other words, we had to write about our understanding of a video of sir in our words.

Work Environment

Online internship as the name suggests. We had to work from home and the task had to be submitted one day at a time.

Good things

Even though the internship was ongoing it is an ideal internship for a first-year student as the area of research is not limited to a single sphere and it encompasses a whole lot of areas of law.
It was a great learning experience.

With sir’s insights on how these provisions and case laws were applicable to real-life situations, it really helped us gain legal knowledge and become legally aware.

Bad things

As such there were no bad things as the time for completing the task was flexible. You can stop your internship for a few days with prior notice and then again continue the internship.

Anything else?

Sir being under a Supreme Court Advocate with so much room for learning and the freedom to work as we wish. It is highly recommended for a First-Year student.
