Purpose and Aim of the Competition
The purpose of the Competition is to provide participants with:
- An opportunity to win together as this competition has a new format: firstly, to make it more exciting, interactive and allow the participants to compete with themselves rather than with other participants, to become a better mediator or negotiator than they have been before and secondly, to reflect the true meaning of mediation i.e. its not about competing to win rather it’s about finding a workable solution for all so that each party emerges a winner.
- A comprehensive online learning experience in alternative dispute resolution (ADR) skills, specifically in an online environment for mediation and negotiation. This includes equipping participants with basic negotiation and mediation skills, helping them adapt their ADR skills to the online platform, and improving their communication skills in an online setup.
- A team-makes-the-dream-work experience for participants to work as a team, learn to collaborate with new team members, and overcome challenges that may arise in a team setup.
- An inclusive cross-cultural immersion to promote cross-cultural understanding by addressing cross-cultural barriers that may arise in ADR processes and international conflicts. Making mediation relevant for people from different cultures, beyond law.
- Expanding the mediation community for different people beyond law.
- A self to society social causes journey where participants will negotiate on disputes related to causes that matter to young people such as gender diversity, animal welfare, and climate change.
- An at home international opportunity to interact with students from different countries, as well as ADR specialists from various parts of the world who come together to build a community going forward and support each other in our peacemaking journeys.

Application Process
- The registration shall be done via the Google form provided at this post’s end.
- The Competition will have a maximum of 32 teams and the registration of teams will be confirmed on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.
Mode of the Competition
The Competition will take place exclusively on Zoom. This allows participants to join from any location around the world, providing the flexibility to participate from the comfort of their own homes using a laptop, computer, or tablet.
Schedule of the Competition
- 02.08.2024 (5:00 – 7:30 pm IST): Orientation, Training and Expert Demonstration
- 03.08.2024 (11:00 am – 12:15 pm 1ST): Multiple Choice Quiz
- 03.08.2024 (3:00 – 5:00 pm IST): Mediation & Negotiation Round
- 04.08.204 (3:00 – 5:00 pm IST): Awards and Certificates Ceremony
