COVID-19: Chhattisgarh logs 571 new cases, 5 deaths

Raipur, Feb 14 (PTI) Chhattisgarh on Monday reported 571 new COVID-19 cases, taking the overall tally to 11,46,844, while five fresh deaths raised the toll to 14,011, an official said.

The daily positivity rate, or cases detected per 100 tests, was 1.73 per cent, down from 3.38 per cent on Sunday, when the state had recorded 579 COVID-19 infections and five deaths, he said.

The number of recoveries reached 11,26,439 after 64 people were discharged from hospitals and 2,017 others completed home isolation during the day, leaving the state with an active tally of 6,394, he said.

“Surajpur recorded 75 new cases, followed by Durg 57, Raipur 55, Rajnandgaon 30, Korba 32, Bilaspur 27, Raigarh 12 and Janjgir-Champa 3, among other districts,” the official said.

“With 32,959 swab samples examined during the day, the number of COVID-19 tests in the state went up to 1,67,53,286,” he said.
