Thane, Mar 21 (PTI) A man and a woman have been arrested in Dombivli area of the district for alleged sale and purchase of a stolen auto rickshaw, police said on Tuesday.
Several complaints of auto rikshaw thefts had been registered in the limits of Manpada police station of late, said senior inspector Maloji Shinde of Crime Branch.
Police first arrested a 38-year-old man on suspicion. Questioning revealed that he had bought a stolen rickshaw from a 53-year-old woman, resident of Manpada, for Rs 10,000, the official said.
The rickshaw’s number plate had been changed.
Both were arrested and further probe was on, the official said. PTI COR KRK KRK
