Farrukhabad (UP), Apr 2 (PTI) A woman in her late 20s was found dead here with her face burnt, police said on Sunday.
The body was found in Kampil area here on Saturday evening, said Sub-Inspector Mohammad Sartaz.
The identity of the woman is yet to be ascertained. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, he said.
A plastic bottle containing some chemical was also found near the body. It appears that those who killed the woman tried to pour acid or some other chemical on the body so that she could not be identified, Sartaz said.
The woman’s face was burnt, he added.
