Paytm Pitches In With Oxygen Plants While Delhivery Offers Logistic Aid

The company is expecting its deliveries soon in the next 4-6 weeks, with machines costing between INR50 Lakh to INR 1Crore per plant. They will provide these machines free of cost to government hospitals.

As hospitals across the country are facing oxygen shortage amid the second wave of Covid-, payment gateway Paytm is setting up oxygen plants across 13 cities in India. The company is expecting its deliveries soon in the next 4-6 weeks, with machines costing between INR50 Lakh to INR 1Crore per plant. They will provide these machines free of cost to government hospitals.

Oxygen plants produce medical-grade oxygen from ambient air and are industrial size machines. They are capable of supplying Oxygen to over a hundred beds.

Paytm’s foundation is importing the plants in partnership with organizations including the American Indian Foundation, and Elevation Capital. Paytm is in talks with hospitals and state governments to gain approvals for setting up Oxygen plants. The impact of the second Covid wave has become evident from April 2021, with various start-ups focusing on employee health on a priority basis.

In addition, logistics and supply chain company Delhivery has helped in importing 1,000 oxygen concentrators. 38,444 more oxygen concentrators are expected to arrive across next week. The company has already been providing logistics support on a subsidized and immediate basis.
