Meta has introduced the Facebook Reels API, an enterprise solution API that enables the sharing of Reels to publicly available Facebook Pages from a desktop or web-based application.
Several creators and brands used to rely on third-party tools when creating Facebook Reels and Meta has enabled simplicity and ease of sharing video content from their tool or app of choice through the ‘share to reels’ feature enables with the API.
The Reels API will enable third-party platforms to directly enable a ‘share to reels’ feature, removing friction for users previously using third party platforms and then uploading at a later time to Facebook. This API will allow one-button sharing directly from their preferred third-party platform.
Content creation platforms that provide enhanced tooling for video creation and editing through the use of templates, subtitles, editing backgrounds, etc can use the newly launched API; social media management platforms that support various social network integrations to help manage, schedule, and post content on behalf of users, companies, and brands; Large publishers and enterprise creators who develop an in-house social media management tool that can directly integrate and publish to Facebook Reels; all of these establishments can use the API.
