Call for Blogs on Contemporary Issues by Centre for Maritime Law, NLUO: Rolling Submissions

NLUO Centre for Maritime Law is inviting submissions on contemporary issues through a call for blogs.

About CML

In 2015, the NLUO Centre for Maritime Law was founded with the goal of strengthening the
university’s capability for maritime research. One of the Centre’s main goals has been to
identify the outdated maritime legislation that was borrowed from other nations but does not
sufficiently address the issues facing our nation.

Theme

Authors are free to write on any theme and encouraged to write on any contemporary issues related to maritime law It is expected from the authors they provide any critical insight into it.

Submission Guidelines

  • The Centre seeks blog article contributions about any topic in line with the theme of Maritime Law in the form of:-
    • i) Any comments on recent contemporary developments in the maritime law industry.
    • ii) Case Commentary on judgments by any recognized forum pertaining to maritime law.
    • iii) Literature review of any published book on the topic of maritime law.
  • Co-authorship is permitted but limited to only 2 authors.
  • The authors need to follow appropriate formatting such as: –
    • i) Font- Times New Roman
    • ii) Font size- 12
    • iii) Spacing- 1.2
    • iv) End notes font size and spacing- 10 and Single line spacing
    • v) Details such as page numbers, paragraph numbers for reference and headings etc., should be added compulsorily.
  • Word Limit: The authors are required to submit their blog post articles within 800-1500. The authors might note that the word limit is flexible subject to the quality of work and discretion of the editor.
  • Similarity Index: The similarity index needs to be less than 20% beyond which the submissions shall be rejected. The piece of work should be original and must include the opinion of the author on the issues addressed.
  • Citations: The authors must follow the latest Bluebook format of citations in the form of endnotes. Blog articles carrying any other format of citations shall not be accepted unless updated and resubmitted by the authors.

How to Submit?

Authors need to submit their manuscripts in .doc or .docx format only. The manuscripts need to be mailed to cml[at]nluo.ac.in with the subject being ‘Submission for Blog Post”.
