Call for Chapters: Book on Legal Startups, Entrepreneurship and Innovation by GNLU: Submit by Jan 10, 2023

Legal Startups and GNLU Gandhinagar are inviting submissions through a call for chapters for a book to be published by Thomson and Reuters.

About GNLU

The Gujarat National Law University is a public law school and a National Law University established under the Gujarat National Law University Act, 2003 in the state of Gujarat.

About the Book

Indian Legal System going through tough times because of the pendency of cases and other legal complexities for many years. Many efforts have been made to cope with this situation. We need a radical change in the present legal system and innovation is the answer to this.

Western countries have come up with several innovative platforms i.e. legal startups to address various legal affairs. We also need Legal Startups in India dealing with various aspects to make the system efficient and effective which is not that appealing at present.

A handful of people know about legal startups and there is an urgent need to start a movement in this regard. To address this issue, Dr Kalpeshkumar L Gupta, the Editor of the present book launched Legal startups in the year 2018 which is India’s first-of-its-kind platform, so that students, law teachers, and professionals can come up with some unique ideas in the legal field.

Legal Startups have been incubated at GNLU Legal Incubation Council (India’s first Legal Incubation Center) and initiated by Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar, India. The present edited book is being brought out by Legal Startups and Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar.

This book will provide a distinctive overview of the evolutions and impacts in the pattern of legal entrepreneurship, and legal startups at national and international levels. This book will serve as a useful resource and reference for practitioners, researchers, academicians, trainers, policymakers, students of law & entrepreneurship and other professionals.

Submission Guidelines

  • Submitted proposals will be reviewed and feedback will be provided for selected proposals. Authors of selected proposals are then will be required to submit the Full Chapter.
  • The Full Chapters will be peer-reviewed by reviewers and selected Chapters will be published in the book on Legal Startups, Entrepreneurship & Innovation.
  • The proposal should be of 3-4 pages (excluding the cover page and author details).
  • The suggestive structure of the proposal would be:
    • a) Rationale of the Study,
    • b) Research Gap,
    • c) Tentative Research Methodology,
    • d) Possible Future Results and Outcomes,
    • e) Contributions in Policymaking/Theory building.

Publication Details

The edited book will be published by Thomson and Reuters. There would be no publication charges.

  • Abstract Submission – January 10, 2023
  • Notification of Acceptance of Abstract – January 25, 2023
  • Full Chapter Submission – February 28, 2023
  • Communication of Review – March 15, 2023
  • Submission of Revised Chapter – March 30, 2023
  • Communication of Final Acceptance – April 20, 2023
